Our Story
Hi, we’re Cody and Jess, and we’re so excited to share our love of the Smoky Mountains with you! After countless trips to Gatlinburg, we fell in love with the area’s stunning views, endless outdoor adventures, and charming local shops so much so that we decided to make it our home away from home.
Bear Naked holds a very special place in our hearts; it’s where Cody proposed, and it’s always been our little private retreat for romance and relaxation. Bearly Made It is our go-to for larger gatherings, and every other year we bring a group of friends for a long weekend filled with hiking, golfing, exploring, shopping, and just enjoying everything the Smokies have to offer. Our chocolate lab, Chip, loves it too. We joke that he calls it his “houses made of sticks.” He loves laying on the decks at the cabins and hiking the Gatlinburg Trail and splashing in the river to fetch a stick countless times.
We love spending our time hiking, golfing, tasting local food, shopping at the outlet malls and local boutiques, tubing, white water rafting, and exploring the Tuckaleechee Caverns and Cherokee area. We’ve poured all that love and experience into our cabins to make them a place where you can relax, unwind, and make your own memories.
Because we’re privately owned, booking directly with us helps you avoid the outrageous fees charged by VRBO and Airbnb, and it also allows us to provide a more personal experience.
